Osteopathy For Babies
Under this heading, Osteopaths can treat a range of people from babies and children, to pregnant women. Undergraduate training for osteopaths includes paediatrics, and so therefore Osteopaths are qualified to work with babies and children.
Babies’ skeletons are softer than an adult’s and Osteopaths will therefore use gentler techniques such as cranial osteopathy when treating babies. Cranial techniques are safe, gentle, and non-manipulative.
Osteopathy is based on the principle that the structure and function of the body are intimately related. If the structure is not balanced and healthy then the function is affected. We use Osteopathic and Cranial techniques to address this to try and help whole body health ensue, hopefully resulting in clear obvious improvements.
Of course it not just the baby that might need treating… Mums during and after pregnancy might need help as well.
A woman’s body changes during pregnancy. Those changes include the softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to posture. That can lead to additional pressure on joints in various parts of the body, including the spine or pelvis. Once again we use Osteopathic techniques and advice to help guide you back to health.
